Abstract Submission 
HSE Integrated Healthcare Conference 2026: Delivering Integrated Care Together

Abstract submissions to present a poster are now open and will close on Friday 19 June

 

Key Information

  • Please ensure that each field is completed

  • Applicants will be notified in July on the outcome of their submission, with information on next steps

  • Abstracts should clearly and concisely outline the purpose, methodology, key findings, and impact of the work.

  • Submissions are welcome from all areas of the Health Service relevant to the conference theme of Delivering Integrated Care Together and specifically aligned to one of the 10 categories listed below

  • By completing your abstract submission, you consent to the sharing of your content with trusted third-party partners and services providers involved in the delivery of this event, solely for purposes related to the conference

  • A lead author must be available to attend the conference in-person on 3 September. Attendance can only be guaranteed for one author due to capacity limitations, while every effort will be made to accommodate additional authors

  • Both lead authors and additional authors must register interest to attend the conference as early as possible through the link here

  • Late or incomplete submissions cannot be accepted

Guidelines for Abstract Submissions

  • Abstract submissions must include the following subheadings; background, methodology, results and conclusion. Submissions that do not include these headings will not be considered for poster presentation

  • Background and Objectives (70 words maximum): Briefly describe the context of the initiative or project, the problem being addressed, and the specific aim or question

  • Methods or Approach (50 words maximum): Summarise the design, participants, procedures, and tools used to conduct the initiative, study or project

  • Key Results or Findings (50 words maximum): Highlight the most important outcomes or discoveries, including relevant data or trends

  • If you wish to support your abstract with data in the form of graphs/tables/figures, please upload it in this section. This document must be one A4 page in PDF format

  • Conclusions and Implications (50 words maximum): Explain the significance of the findings and their potential impact on practice, policy, or future research

Submissions are invited across the following categories:

  1. Integrated Care in Action 
    Projects that demonstrate joined-up care across services in line with Slaintecare principles, with measurable improvements in patient outcomes, continuity of care, and system efficiency

     

  2. Equity, Inclusion and Reducing Health Inequalities
    Initiatives advancing equitable access and outcomes, with evidence of reducing disparities and improving care for priority and underserved populations
     

  3. Excellence in Emergency and Unscheduled Care
    Improvements supporting timely, safe urgent care, with demonstrated impact on patient flow, waiting times, safety, and clinical outcomes
     

  4. Digital Health That Makes a Difference
    Digital innovations enabling safer, more accessible and efficient services, supported by measurable improvements in access, experience, or outcomes
     

  5. Supporting Mental Health and Wellbeing
    Approaches enhancing mental health services or workforce wellbeing, with evidence of improved outcomes, access, or staff experience
     

  6. Reducing Wait Times and Improving Access to Care
    Solutions that measurably improve timely access, reduce waiting lists, streamline referrals and improve patient experience across the care journey
     

  7. Strengthening Community-Centred Care and Prevention)
    Initiatives that shift care upstream into prevention, early intervention, and community-based services, with measurable impact on population health outcomes and demand on acute services

     

  8. The Business of Care: Integrating Management in Healthcare Delivery
    Models that strengthen governance, operational management, and value-based care, demonstrating improved efficiency, performance, and service quality

     

  9. Transforming HSE Services for a Sustainable Future
    Examples of service redesign, innovation and system transformation, showing impact on long-term resilience or sustainability – financial, environmental or workforce – while supporting Slaintecare and value-based models of care

     

  10. Advancing Outcomes: Promoting Productivity in Healthcare Delivery
    Initiatives improving productivity and value, with clear evidence of enhanced outputs, better patient outcomes, and efficient use of resources
